Description
Hayrides and Hot Dogs – 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Hayrides start at Cacapon Lodge and will continue every hour, with the last ride at 2 p.m. A reservation sheet will be at the front desk of the lodge. 304-258-1022. After the hayride, head over to the Nature Center fire circle for hot dogs over the campfire. $2 hot dog; $1 soda/water; $2 chips
Pumpkin Carving – 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Join us at the Bluebird Shelter near the Nature Center for a pumpkin carving contest! Come on out to simply carve a pumpkin or enter the pumpkin carving contest. Carving utensils and cut-outs available. 1st, 2nd and 3rd-place prizes will be awarded at 2 p.m. Cost $3 per pumpkin.
Haunted Trail – 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Come out if you dare!
Park at the Nature Center for this spooky event. Tours will leave every 15 minutes. This haunted trail begins at the Nature Center and will finish at the Campfire Circle with free roasted marshmallows. Hot chocolate and hot apple cider available for $1. Children 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult. $5 admission required for haunted trail and Halloween glow sticks.
Pumpkin Golf and Halloween Crafts and Snacks – 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Stop by the Nature Center Pavilion for these free fun alternative activities for the younger youth. Coordinated by Ellena Cole and Trucilla Henry Girl Scout Silver Award Project.
