1. Hear From a Real NASA Astronaut

Don't miss an opportunity to learn from a real NASA astronaut! Varsity Tutors is hosting former astronaut Leland Melvin in a free and virtual class. Melvin will challenge the next generation of astronauts and inventors to tackle the challenges of their lifetime – and show them the tools they can use to get the job done. He'll even guide students through some basic astronaut training to make sure they’re up to the challenge. Aug. 10

2. STEAM Fun! Explore the Wildest Animal Skeletons

Wonderlab Museum will take kids on a virtual exploration of some of the wildest skeletons in the animal kingdom. There will be a chance for science fun! Bring a container with a lid, some distilled white vinegar, and some cleaned chicken bones from dinner to take part! Aug. 11

3. Look up! It's the Peak of the Perseid Meteor Shower

The Perseid Meteor Shower can be seen every year from mid-July through mid- to late-August, with astronomers anticipating its peak in 2023 hitting Aug. 12 and 13. This should be a good year to spot meteors as the moon will be a waning crescent and only 10% illuminated. Aug. 12 and 13

4. Meet The Flash Comic Book Artist & Writer

Become a storytelling hero with an award-winning comic book artist in a free and virtual event hosted by DC Presents. In this live, interactive class, DC artist/writer Francis Manapul will take you through his experience in The Flash comics universe to show how you create compelling plots that keep readers on the edges of their seats. Aug. 14
